Medicare Physician Compare Period Open Through November 11, 2016

October 17, 2016

The Medicare Physician Compare 30-day preview period is now open and runs through November 11, 2016. It allows clinicians and group practices to preview their performance scores for select 2015 Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) measures and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) for PQRS measures before they are publicly reported on Physician Compare later this year.

Physicians can access the secured preview site through the PQRS portal-Provider Quality Information Portal, and they can learn how to preview performance scores using the Guide to Physician Compare Preview Period. For questions, contact PhysicianCompare@Westat.com.

Background:

The Physician Compare website was created by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2010, as required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It helps individuals find and choose physicians and other health care professionals enrolled in Medicare, so that they can make informed choices about their health care.
